Managed by the Glendale Chamber and its Military & Veterans Affairs Committee
The Glendale Chamber's Military & Veterans Affairs Committee hosted a very special flag-raising ceremony on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Thunderbird Conservation Park in Glendale. The community rallied together to participate in a human chain to carry
(hand-over-hand) the flag to the newly installed flag pole at Arrowhead Point, where it is now permanently displayed as a point of pride for residents and visitors alike. This event also coincided with Veterans Day weekend and payed tribute to those who have served and are serving in the U.S. Armed Services.
You can now visit the permanent flag at Arrowhead Point at:
Thunderbird Conservation Park
22600 N. 59th Avenue, Glendale AZ, 85310
Now, the Chamber's Military & Veterans Affairs Committee is tasked with caring for the flag. Committee members and community volunteers make sure the flag gets replaced when it has been damaged by strong winds and is raised and lowered to half staff at the appropriate times.
MVAC will also take in donated new or still serviceable flags that can be put back into service.
