We are proud to announce that on Mon. Feb. 7th, Representative Amish Shah and House Speaker Rusty Bowers filed HB2802, a historic bi-partisan bill known as the Equality and Fairness for All Arizonans Act. This bill extends Arizona's current non-discrimination law to LGBTQ Arizonans in employment, housing and public accommodations, while protecting religious rights for institutions of faith. This bill also bans conversion therapy for licensed healthcare professionals.
As Robert Heidt, President and CEO of the Glendale Chamber of commerce put it, “It’s about equal protections, not special protections. 94% of Fortune 500 companies have non-discrimination policies that include gender identity & sexual orientation, and it’s time for us to have a non-discrimination policy to match.”
Our support is strong in Arizona, and our bi-partisan national coalition continues to grow. But the clock is ticking. We must act now to ensure that another election cycle does not pass without full citizenship for everyone.
The Equality and Fairness for All Americans framework will be the largest advancement in civil rights in a generation.
We need your help today to pass legislation that will fundamentally change lives for generations to come.
