The vibrant business community in Downtown Glendale is made up of many mom and pop shops with unique, one-of-a-kind items you won’t find anywhere else. The shops range from clothing to gifts, from gardening to vintage, plus comic books, crafts, astrology and so much more! Just as no two businesses here are the same, you may also find that no two businesses keep the same hours. We suggest that you check individual business hours on their social media or website when planning your visit.
Come explore the culture of the city! You can enjoy a play, visit the art gallery or take in a show at the comedy club. Murphy Park is the central part of downtown surrounded by grass and diagonal sidewalks that give pedestrians many easy paths to and from the local businesses, including the Velma Teague Branch Library located in the middle of the park. Next to the park and the lower level of City Hall is the E. Lowell Rogers Amphitheatre where many concerts and performances are held. The Civic Center hosts many conferences, meetings, and is a beautiful rental venue for celebrations of many kinds. In addition to the Civic Center, there are many organizations and private venues available for rent, so consider celebrating that special occasion in Downtown Glendale.
When you visit downtown Glendale, be sure to bring your appetite! The variety of ethnic restaurants is sure to please and keep you coming back to try more! You will find critically acclaimed American, Mexican, Vietnamese, Polish, German and Italian restaurants, to name a few. In addition, there are tea rooms, diners, bistros, ice-cream shops, coffee shops, bakeries and wine bars. Many restaurants have comfortable patios to enjoy a great meal or drinks with friends and family. Many of our restaurants have even made their patios pet friendly but be sure to check prior to arrival.
