A WORD FROM OUR 2022 CHAIR OF THE BOARD

"The strength of who we are as a community is based on how well businesses, residents, service organizations, educational institutions, and municipalities come together to support growth and development for the City of Glendale and the West Valley. To foster this philosophy, as president of Glendale Community College (GCC), I have sought out opportunities to serve Glendale and immerse myself into the fabric of our surrounding community.

One such opportunity is to serve on the Glendale Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, which I have done since 2018, and now as the 2022 Chair of the Board of Directors. This role is a privilege and an opportunity to address issues that have long existed as well as those that have been brought to light and exacerbated by the pandemic of the past two years. I welcome the challenge to bridge gaps by working together, in support of each other and of our community, knowing the strengths and opportunities will continue to present themselves as we keep our eyes focused on a positive future.

I am proud of the tradition of service that Glendale Community College embodies. Since 1965 our mission has been to promote social and economic mobility by providing educational opportunities to all and preparing students to immediately enter the workforce or transfer to a university. Over the past two years, we have learned to overcome challenges brought on by the pandemic, and the opportunity to begin offering four-year degrees is a great example of how we continually adapt to the changing landscape and meet the needs of our students and community.

I look forward to continuing to work together in support of the Glendale Chamber of Commerce and the City of Glendale as we build a strong and prosperous community for all. "
