Glendale Chamber Ribbon-Cutting Event Signifies PESD is "Open for Business"

Pendergast Welcomes Chamber to Partner in success of the District Pendergast Welcomes Chamber to Partner in success of the District - The Pendergast Elementary School District  in partnership with the Glendale Chamber of Commerce  is sponsoring a Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony, the first of its kind in the Pendergast District. The purpose of the ribbon–cutting is to invite local businesses and their owners, community members, families and government officials to see the tremendous opportunities provided in the district with an official invitation to partner with Pendergast.

The District serves approximately 10,000 preschool – 8th grade students on 12 campuses in the communities of Avondale, Phoenix and Glendale. Schools located in Glendale are Desert Mirage, Sunset Ridge and Sonoran Sky Elementary. Dr. Lily Matos DeBlieux, the new PESD superintendent and the PESD Governing Board are new members of the Glendale Chamber of Commerce and are anxious to showcase all the district has to offer.

The community event will take place on Wednesday, September 24, 2014 from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. at the Pendergast District Office complex located at 3802 North 91st Avenue, Phoenix, Arizona 85037. Dignitaries including Glendale Mayor Jerry Weiers and City Council members, PESD Superintendent Dr. Lily Matos DeBlieux and Governing Board members, district and school administrators and guests will enjoy the official ribbon-cutting ceremony along with food, music and door prizes provided by local businesses.

Governing Board President Martín Quezada strongly believes in, “The community investing in our schools and the schools investing in the community. We view our Pendergast Partners as a mutually beneficial relationship with robust economic ties to our neighboring businesses. This development is vital to our local communities. We welcome everyone to attend and look forward to developing strong relationships.”
